Where is this ride taking me and do I really want to go there?

finally

Angi sent a few pics of the Ultra Femme, I like her choice of pink ribbon!

I finished the front of the shapely tank but it need some serious blocking so I won't share it now. It went really quickly and I love the pattern! I will share more as I get something worth sharing.

more pics

So now that I know that the pics work I will put up a few. Here is the cell phone cozy that I made by modifying the pattern for French Tickler from Knitty.

And here is the cutest child alive in the Bunny Hat from SnB Nation, I love that book!

And here is another Fi pic with her wonderful mother, my very bestest pal Wog.

I like grapes!

Ok I am going to start posting a few pics now, I hope they turn out ok. First the Ultra Femme

I started and finished Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince today. No spoilers I promise but I did require a great deal more Kleenex than I thought I would need.

Yesterday Xander and I went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. What a fantastic movie!!! Johnny Depp was so perfect! We went for coffee afterwards and a little scenic drive after that. It was nice, I was even invited to go with him when he gets his next tattoo. That should be interesting.

I have just returned from a Harry Potter Party. Julie and I went out to Barnes and Noble in Alexandria, right by the IHOP. We got there at 10 and picked up green bracelets that say July 16, 2005 on them as well as some plastic HP glasses frames. Julie picked up her wristband and we went to the afore-mentioned IHOP. We returned to the BN just a few minutes before the wristbanded folks were called to their lines. I sat in the cafe and worked on the tank top that I am knitting for myself. You might be wondering, why was I not among the wristbanded in line? Well, I must admit that I'm a bit of a HP snob and I only buy the British version. The punctuation is a little different and I prefer the artwork in the British version. So mine should be in the mail right now on its way to me, and I should have it next week. Julie is a kind soul and offered to let me read her copy after she finishes.

Thanks Julie and good luck on day 2 of comps!

finished!!!!

Yesterday I thought I would never finish but my inability to sleep this morning allowed me enough time to finish the Ultra Femme. After I show it off in class tonight it will hit the mail tomorrow and Angi should have it soon. I really hope that it fits and she likes it. Because it is really cute. I also know that I'm the only one who will notice all the mistakes, and I'm ok with that. Now I have to get back to my tank and scarf and possibly a hat for the adorable Fiona.

A.K.A the shirt that never ends. I feel like I knit, and knit, and knit, and knit, and knit and I still need just a few more rows. This wouldn't be so bad but the yarn is so tiny and there are 234 stitches in a round. Maybe this weekend I will finish, but I've been saying that for at least 3 weeks.

pain

Ok, I realize that I am a nerd. I mean, I want to be a librarian, a music librarian. And I would rather spend my free time knitting, reading, or making soap. But this morning as I’m trying to finish knitting Angi’s shirt and drinking coffee I turned on the TV and found myself absolutely drawn into Antiques Roadshow. What about this show is so addictive? I know that other people my age watch this show, although most will deny it when asked. My only guess that my love of research likes the provenance and how these professionals can give value to old things.

And now for something completely different . . .

I sometimes go through times of complete clumsiness. This week definitely fits this. On Thursday as I was leaving Marist I was walking down the front steps and missed one. I fell face first down the stairs. My knees are really bad, scraped, bruised and very, very sore. This morning I was going to my sink so I could get water for coffee and I stepped on a piece of broken glass. About a month ago I dropped a drinking glass and I worked very hard to clean up all the pieces. But I guess I wasn’t thorough enough. So now I have a nice puncture wound on my right heel. What makes this better is that my right knee is certainly more damaged from the fall. Now I walk a little oddly and I just want to go back to bed.

July 4th

Angi left yesterday. In someways her trip was very long but it was nice to have someone visit, especially someone that knows me.I'm just gald that she didn't stay with me.

I started my second summer class last week, History of the Book. It looks like it will be really interesting and a little fun, I mean our final project is about Harry Potter.

Speaking of Harry Potter its less than 2 weeks until book 6 comes out. I have my British edition on order and it would be here soon. I also got the British edition on book 1, I just nedd 2 and 3 to have all of the British editions.

Last year on this day I was with the Wagners. We went to lovely Winchester Bay, Oregon where we BBQ'ed and watched the fireworks over the bay. Linda, Wendy, and Fiona I hope you are all having a fantastic holiday and I wish I was with you. Fortunately I will see you in August.
