scatterbrained

Where is this ride taking me and do I really want to go there?

crazy times

Last night Liz, Paul and I went to Chili’s to take advantage of the bartender’s generosity. On one side of Paul was a intoxicated and probably crazy couple the woman was talking to an Elmo balloon. When she was in the bathroom he mentioned that she was a physiatrist. We’re not sure if he was joking or not but it’s pretty scary to think about.

I’ve nearly finished my bulky scarf. I’ll post a pic when it’s done. This semester is incredible crazy so my knitting output will be small. The only chance I have right now is on metro since I have to go to LC twice a week. I hope to get the Fiona sweater done by her birthday in April. My final Christmas present is on its way here, I found a swift and yarn winder on sale. I will manage to find time to wind even if I can’t get much knitting done.

knit picks

I have not yet shared the knitting goodies received and experienced while I was in Oregon. We went to Boersma’s Knitting Basket, The Yarn Garden, and Woodland Woolworks. I picked up a nice cardigan pattern at Boersma’s that I’m now in search of the perfect yarn for. At the Yarn Garden I found Brown Sheep Bulky Spun in black for a scarf I’ve been planning. But the best finds were at WW, they had several back issues of Rebecca for $2.50 each so I grabbed one of each. It was almost too good to be true, I also found Hip to Knit on sale and got that as well.

For Christmas I got the Denise Interchangeable set, it is SO wonderful. I also got some sock yarn and some alpaca from my mom. I didn’t get much knitting done there, just a scarf for Paul and one for Tim. The best part was retrieving the Fiona sweater so I can now try to finish it before she grows out of it.

things

I know I haven’t written much lately. There is only dial-up at my parents and that makes things difficult. Christmas break was nice but long. I spent many hours on the phone with Paul and that made things better. Christmas Eve was spent at my Aunt and Uncle’s house Mom, Nat and I were knitting up a storm.

Ang got a little crazy!

Angi and I spent New Year’s eve with my “little sister” Sarah. Sarah, her husband Mike, her friend Jamie, Angi and spent the evening eating yummy things and playing board games. We played the Game of Real Life and Scattergories. Maybe it wasn’t the most exciting night but it was fun.

I then spent a few days with the Wagner's Fiona is getting so big, it's amazing.

When I returned Paul rescued me from the airport and brought more beautiful flowers

We spent a couple of days getting to know his new hedgehog, which currently doesn't have a real name, although Foamy is most likely.

When I got back a mouse had moved into my room and ate some of my cacti. I hate rodents. I start my classes tomorrow. I hope this semester goes well, I'm getting so close to the end.
