Where is this ride taking me and do I really want to go there?

Long time, no blog

I realize that it has been a while since my last post, but so much has been happening.

Nat and I visited Eliz at her lovely home/place of employment. Lancaster is really a nice place. It was also fun to meet Fran and Scott as well as seeing Jen again. The crème brule at Mazzi’s is fabulous!

Then to DC! We hit a huge rainstorm around York and it continued to drizzle all the way here.

After much hassle with housing I moved into my room. The official 2 night guest limit was lifted for Nat, finally. This room looks so much like the room Wog and I had in Walter. But this one is all my own and I even have a sink!

We spent last Sunday with Scott and Marci. It is amazing how nice they are, especially after knowing his parents. They took us to lunch then we spent the whole afternoon at the National Zoo. The panda bears are so cute. After the zoo we found some ice cream and then went to their lovely home for tacos and the Olympics.

Nat and I got Greyhound tickets to New York City. I was a little stressed about this trip but Nat really wanted to go and we weren’t sure when she would have another opportunity to go there. We made hostel reservations since Topu can be unreliable.

We took the subway to the hostel then Topu called and we were able to stay with him. I can’t remember the last time I did so much walking. My feet still hurt. We had authentic NY pizza for dinner. Then we walked all over the East Village, Chinatown, Little Italy, SoHo and Brooklyn. We walked right past CBGB’s!

The next morning we found bagels and had a hot dog from a street vendor. We walked around Central Park, Times Square and 42nd St.

On Wednesday Nat and I explored the Mall, the Washington Monument, WWII memorial, Lincoln Memorial and walked past the White House. Later that night we even found Whole Foods.

Nat left Thursday morning. She had a great trip home but I was a little lonely without her around. I had just spent almost 3 weeks in her exclusive company and I had to adjust to being alone again.

There is much more to say but not right now.
