Where is this ride taking me and do I really want to go there?

Car shopping sucks! (But it is also fun)

After I lost the Neon Paul and I have been a one veheicle family. Now that I am gainfully employed I need my own wheels. We have spent the past two days out there looking. I have had wonderful experiences and terrible experiences. Some sales people refuse to acknowledge that I might be making decesions, and only talk directly to Paul.

Others treat you so well, even give you a really great car to try out for the weekend. But I just don't know if I can really afford this cute, fun, little car. Why can't this be easy?

working

I was officially offered the ITT job yesterday. It is in Owings Mills. Now I have a real libary job, this is really exciting. It's not what I originally went to library school for but I think I will enjoy the situation and it will be good to have some experiance so when the perfect music library job comes up I will be a perfect candidate.

changes; again

So it was time for a change, plus W used the same template as me.

I had a job interview this morning at ITT Tech. They offered me a position and if all goes well I might start next Monday. I think this will be a good week!

chug-a-chug-a-choo-choo

So last weekend was very long but I had a really nice time. I took the train to Indianapolis. I left at 11:45 am and arrived there at 6:30 am the following morning. I spent the morning at Julie’s parent’s house sleeping and chatting with the bride-to-be. I went with them to the church early and ended up helping with all sorts of things, like doing up all the buttons on her dress and saving the zipper of Abby, one of the bridesmaids.

The wedding was lovely although a little long, I’m not Catholic and a lot was lost on me. Then I found a ride to the reception with a couple of people including Keri, Chris’ girlfriend. It turned out that Keri and I were at the same table, as were John S. and Dave the RA, a former professor of Andy’s and a couple of his crazy friends.

The food was good, the space was nice and the DJ was ok. As I was dependant on the kindness of others for a ride I stayed throughout the reception. Abby had another wardrobe malfunction but there was nothing I could do this time. Then Colleen’s strap came apart. I’m glad I didn’t have one of those dresses.

Anyway the majority of bridesmaids, groomsmen, and crazy friends decided to go out on the town and I was invited as they were going near the train station and I had to be there at 1:15 am. We went to a crazy bar, Howl at the Moon, and listened to the dueling piano group. I left at about 1 to get my things and get to the station. I arrived and asked if the train was on time, of course not! It was running about an hour behind, and the train station was kind of scary.

Eventually I got on the train and had a few hours sleep before the train started filling up. I had a delightful seatmate, Jeni, we had a nice conversation for the remainder of the trip. I even got some knitting done.

I got home about an hour an a half late but it was so nice to sleep in my bed again.

Yesterday we went out to Catholic for a SLIS picnic. I wasn’t sure what to expect, especially since that was my first time there since graduation. I saw several people I knew, and even a few that I like :)

I was really nice to chat with Laura and Lauren. I haven’t talked with either of them in a while. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can get together with Lauren for some much needed knitting time.
