knitting and knitting

Tonight I went to knit night with a group that Lolly told me about.  I'm so glad I went.  I've been in a bit of a knitting slump lately and this was just what I needed to get back in the groove.  There were a bunch of fab-o ladies knitting, crocheting and spinning.  Thanks Lolly for inviting me!

Paul got me hooked on listening to Penn Jillette's radio show.  He is really amusing and brings up some interesting and important topics, plus he has Monkey Tuesday (I suggest downloading the podcasts to see what this is about).  Penn is also the namesake of our pet hedgehog

Well Penn and his buddy Teller have a show on Showtime called Bullshit.  It is fantastic!  We watched the first disk of season one tonight.  The premise of the show is to dispell the bullshit of pop culture, they covered things like alien abductions, magnet therapy, the apocolypse, and second hand smoke.  I can't wait to see the next disk.

more than a week already

I'm currently enjoying a long weekend, it's been nice after the first week of work.  I am generally the kind of person who likes a lot of direction, just tell me what you want done and when and it will be done.  Well there is no one at work who has any idea of what I'm supposed to be doing, just that I need to be there.  It took me a couple of days to realize that I'm capable of making all the decisions about how things work; now only if they would figure out my schedule.

A week ago Monday I chose my new car.  I go an '06 VW Rabbit, it is silver and oh so very cute.  Outside of my education I've never made such a big purchase.  I hope it lasts a very long time.

We are staying in and watching fireworks on TV, I went down to the national mall with Julie last year, this time I won't get stuck standing up, barely able to see.
