scatterbrained

Where is this ride taking me and do I really want to go there?

excitement

Well, there is no knitting news right now. I have been swamped by the end of the semester rush. Fortunately everthing got turned in on time and I feel pretty confident about all my work. I still have one class today and two finals next week as well as a project to finish at my internship.

Today is the big day, we are supposed to find out about comps. Keep your fingers crossed!

I also have to start cleaning and packing this week. Paul and I got the apartment in Halethorpe, and we get to move starting May 1. Because that is also finals week we will probably do a big part of the moving the next week.

On the wedding front, both sets of parents now know. It is such a huge relief. There is still some family left to tell, but I think that announcements will be enough info for them. I got a dress this week. Liz and I stopped at Lane Bryant and just happened to see this really cute white halter-top dress. It has some lace and crochet accents. I can't wait to share pics! THe best part, it was on sale. All I need now is acute pair of shoes.

Happy Earth Day!

everything changes

I know, I’ve been a very bad blogger lately. Well, Paul and I have been really sick this week, I have an ear infection and a horribly sore throat.

I managed to survive comps, I felt completely unprepared for the kinds of questions that were asked but I did my best on those available. Any readers who plan on taking comps soon, I highly recommend being really familiar with information literacy and all technology stuff in general. The worst part is that the results won’t be available until April 27. How will I ever survive?

Other big news before I get to the knitting. I decided, after a great deal of thought, to withdraw from the musicology part of my program for the time being. The good news, I’m graduating in May! The bad news, if and when I decide to finish musicology I will have to write a thesis.

Overall I’m really happy with my decision. I know that on paper I only have one class and comps left to finish that degree but in reality there is a great deal more work involved, including passing German and about 5 undergrad theory/ear training classes just so I can take that final class. The theory/ear training has been far from easy for me and I’m getting seriously burnt out on school lately. So I’ve been applying for jobs like crazy so I can use this library degree

Other exciting news, Paul and I have been apartment hunting and we have it narrowed down to 2, one in Glen Burnie and one in Halethorpe. Both have good and bad aspects so we will know probably next week what we will do. I’m so excited to not live in the dorm anymore. Plus it will be nice to have a home with my sweetie. We are pretty sure that we will get married later in the summer, maybe August. There’s a lot of family stuff to deal with, having our families on opposite coasts can be a big pain.

Ok in knitting land, I finished the striped socks and they are great, I can’t wait to start my next pair. Fiona’s sweater continues to be a big pain and I really hope I get it done by her Birthday at the end of this month. I am also working on a secret project for my mother (all I can say is that it makes liberal use of a cable needle) that will take a while, but I will share after I give it to her. If you really want to know email me and I will share.

I really don’t want to start anything else right until school is done and I get moved.

I will try to better at updates it’s just been crazy lately.
