Where is this ride taking me and do I really want to go there?

funerals

One of my co-workers, Tony, passed away this past Tuesday. He had been fighting cancer for sometime and the cancer won. So, now I have to go to a funeral tomorrow. It will take all day.

I understand that it is important to show his family that he is missed at work and the boss expects us all to be there, but this is my weekend. And this was start week and it was very stressful. I really want a nice weekend at home. But I have to go, I have an hour drive to meet D, then F and C will pick us up and we will go together. The pre-funeral gathering is from 10-11, the funeral is at 11 with luncheon to follow, and at 2 we will proceed to the graveside service. He was in the military so that part will go on and on. I feel bad for complaining but I have an apartment to pack and little help from Paul. UGG!

I'm back

It has been a long time since I've blogged. But, my life has been pretty crazy lately. A quick recap of what has happened since my last post. I had the big surgery June 22, I was in ICU for four days and a regular hospital room for four days. I had every complication that I was warned about including an infection in my drains and loss of feeling around the incision. I had eight weeks off work. My mom visited for two weeks and my sisters were out for one week, that was interesting.

I went back to work, Paul tried a few different jobs. We bought a used Chevy Blazer for Paul. In September I went to Oregon to be a bridesmaid in Angi's wedding, it was very nice but the morning I was leaving for the airport I fell out back and sprained my ankle, I had to walk down the aisle barefoot.

In September I also has a CT scan to ensure that everything inside had healed as it was supposed to, I got the OK and don't have to see the surgeon for a year.

Paul and I went to Oregon for a week for Christmas, we had a pretty nice time, I got to go skiing and was able to see the Wagner's and have dinner with Cat.

In January we received notice that the lease on the apartment would be up at the end of April and we needed to sign a new lease, the rent is going up $20 a month. In a whirlwind we decided to see what York had to offer on the housing market. Boy were we surprised at the prices. I was pre-approved for a mortgage and we found a great house, the payments with property taxes, insurance and everything is $150 less than our rent at the apartment.

We settle on March 21 and I will actually own a home. We have also added to the family and our new girl will join us when we move. I don't have any pictures yet but she is adorable. She is a Rotterman, Rottweiler/Doberman mix and is 4 months old.

I was just diagnosed with mild arthritis in my right hand yesterday and it the pain has really cut into my desire to knit. But, I really need to focus on packing anyway.
