Where is this ride taking me and do I really want to go there?

Halloween fun

Last night was the Central Campus Halloween party. I was a mummy and if I do say so I looked great, a lot of effort and materials went into my costume. But Stupid Jackie just HAD to bring her stupid friend who was dressed up like Jem and she won the contest. She doesn't even go to school here, I'm very aggrivated about it. No matter how much time and effort I put into a costume I always get second place. I just don;t understand.

At least the night did get better, after the party and we ditched Trey a bunch of us gathered to play Taboo, girls against boys. The girls won, of course. I prefer a good night of board games to going out to the bars anyday.

the moon

Last night was a lunar eclipse. I was in class and missed it. My mom called to remind me and I had forgotten to turn my ringer off. I was embarassed. That wouldn't be so bad but my dad called during the same class last week.

blah, blah, blah

I won't bore you with more of the little details of the wedding set-up but I will say that the wedding was fantastic! The morning of W, F and I went to the church early to finish cleaning and setting up. Kurt and his dad came and set up the sign, they were really adorable. On Sunday Eliz and Jen said they would be there around 11, and W and I figured they would be there around noon but they were even later than that. At least we were able to get things ready without them.

Then as I was getting changed Jen and Eliz as well as Jarusha's friend Megan arrived. Soon after followed the photographer. Sidenote, my outfit was fantastic! Wendy and Fi went up to the attic to try to nap and change. While they were up there Jarusha called me several times to check on the set up status and remind me about things that I had already done, it wasn;t a problem I knew she just had wedding day jitters. She finally arrive at about 1:45. The wedding was supposed to start at 2. Kurt was there as well as much of J's family.

Everyone look fab and the ceremony went really well, when J had to take a moment to stop crying I nearly started, it was a wonderfully emotional time. Then about 10 minutes from the end I set my left hand on my skirt and was stung in the side of the hand by a wasp. I nearly screamed, but I didn't want to interupt the wedding. So I sat there and bit my lip to keep from crying. After the receiving line I ran to the car to cry and Eliz helped me by finding some baking soda to put on the sting.

We proceded to the reception and lost the people that we were following. Fortunately we had driven around Pottsville the previous day and eventually found it. Eliz and Jen were not so lucky. But they did get there. THe cake was beautiful and the food was good. After the food Wendy Fi and I went out to play on the play structure in the back of the mansion. Fi learned to go down the slide by herself, what a smart girl!

There was much dancing and conversing but we were all exhausted and went back to the motel before the end. When we were unpacking I found a video camera in the trunk of my car and kept an eye out for the happy couple to return. Fi was asleep and W and I stood outside with K & J so they could unwind a little, Kristina joined us and we had a lovely talk. K & J had to leave at 2 am to drive back to Baltimore to fly to the castle in Nova Scotia that they are honeymooning at. How romantic!

wow it's been a while

I am sorry that I haven't been posting lately. SO much has been going on. The last week and a half have been really great. Wendy and Fiona were here from Oregon. It was wonderful seeing two of the most important people to me. They arrived last Thursday, and we stayed with Scott and Marcie for 2 nights, we also did a bit of looking around DC on Friday but not much.

Saturday we met Eliz at Uniion Station, then after dropping of belongings we went to the Book Fair, that was fun, we saw Heloise, Katherine Patterson and Maria from Sesame Street! After that long day we drove to F & M to stay in Eliz's lovely guest house. On Sunday after a great bagel breakfast Jen met us and we went to Pine Grove, the local of THE WEDDING! I worked on cleaning and watching Fi while the other girls made the most gorgeous dried flower arrangements.

mmmmmmmmmn, brownies

As I was sitting here knitting and watching The Goonies, Liz comes in and announces that we are going out. D is out meeting her internet man and Liz is upset about Chris the Marine not working out. As we are leaving we see Chris, Andy and Jess heading out. Jess and Andy were going to a b-day party and Chris was in search of sugar. As the four of us were walking to the Metro Julie ran up and scared us. She saw us leaving as she was walking upstairs and wanted to go out to recover from day 2 of her mothers visit.

Jess and ANdy left us at CHinatown and we went on to Buffalo Billiards. We all had a coke and did some serious people watching. Liz found a boy to go hit on and was rejected. But the cute bartender gave us free drinks, Nectar of the Gods. Then the highlight of the evening; Stampede Brownie Meyer's Rum walnut brownie topped with a caramel drizzle served with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. WOW what a treat!

Then we headed for home. When we got back to Chinatown Jess and Andy got on the same car as the three of us. That was really weird. We are still waiting for D to get back so I will just watch the UO-Arizona game and work on my knitting.

Oh I am really happy that Dayton beat Amity 46-6 at the Homecoming game last night.
